We took these pictures with our original CCD camera 'LA-1'. LA-1 is made by Toshinobu Miwa, with several members of Tohoku Univ. Astro Lovers. Now we are making LA-2 camera which is based on the cookbook 245 camera. "LA" stands for Lovely Ackky.
After the Festival of Tohoku Univ. he attached a cooling system with two pieces of peltier device, so that LA-1 became capacable of taking a long exposure time.
However, those extra function cost high, so the camera became too heavier to bring outside. Then we got together and desided to make a new, simple camera without losing its potentiality. We found a book" The CCD Camera Cookbook: How to Build Your Own CCD Camera". The Cookbook 245 camera has much more ability than LA-1 has. First we held seminars to learn "The CCD Camera cookbook", and designed LA-2. Consequently we desided the camera has TC245 CCD chip on its basis, two pieces of peltier device and water cooling system around it. At the festival of Tohoku Univ. 1995, we displayed LA-2 though the cooling system had not been enough finished.
