Biography
1921: Born in Utsunomiya , Japan on May 22.
l939: Graduated from Utsunomiya Secondary SchooI（presently Utsunomiya High School).
1944: Graduated from Tokyo Higher NormalSchool.（subsequently Tokyo University of Education,presently Tsukuba University）.
1944: Appointed instructor,Kagawa Normal School（presently Kagawa University）.
1946: Appointed instructorf in art,Utsunomiya High School.
1979: Awarded Tochigi Prefectural Distinguished Service in Education Award.
1983: Appointed lecturer,Faculty of Education,Bunky University.
1994: Died September 18 at the age of 73.
Exhibitions
1948: Fifst showed in the Japan Watercolor Exhibition:Independents Exhibition,and Nika-ten Exhibition.
1951: First showed in the Niki-ten Exhibition;chosen for the exhibition of specially selected works.
1952: Founded,with colleagues,the Tochigi Niki-kai.
1654: Awarded Encouragement Award,Eighth Niki-ten Exhibition.
1956: Showed in the Niki-kai exhibition of selected new artists.
1957: Elected associate of Niki-kai. Continued to show in the Niki-kai exhibitions of selected works thereafter.
1959: Showed in the Kanto Area Niki-kai exhibition of selected works.Held first solo exhibidon.
1967: Held second solo exhibition. Went to first tour of Europe.
1973: Showed by invitation in the first"Artists of Tochigi prefecture Now"exhibition（Tochigi Prefectufal Museum of Fine Arts）.
1977: Showed by invitation the second"Artists of Tochigi Prefecture Now"exhibition.
1981: Held third solo exhibidon.
1993: Showed in the 47th Niki-ten Exhibition.
Takeda therefore exhibited in every Niki-ten Exhibition annually from 1951,except for the 46th Exhibition in 1992,in which he could not participate because he was hospitalized.
*The Niki-kai (the group of "New Epoch") is an organization of artists founded by Saburo Miyamoto and his colleagues in 1947. As they proclaimed at the time,the cause and purpose of the group are to select, promote and actively bring forth into the world new artists based on the following: without judging true artistic value by school,trends, or newness of oldness of style; accepting both figurative and abstruct; without being a slave to contemporary fashion; genuinely desireling the creation of new values; and disregarding personal considerations.
