Foreword
@This retrospective exhibition of the late Hisashi Takeda's works is being organized by the Palette Club to mark the second anniversary of his death. Mr.Takeda's artistic activities spanned a very wide range. Active most prominently in the Niki]kai, he created many large abstract paintings as well as smaller works. He also designed costumes and stage sets for the ballet, school insignia, and murals, and did illustrations for newspapers, books and serial novels. In addition, through his many years as instructor in art at the Utsunomiya High School and as lecturer in the Faculty of Education of Bunkyo University,he helped produce many outstanding art educators and artists . We hope that this retrospective will give visitors to the show an insight into Mr.Takeda's keenly honed aesthetic sensibility and an overview of the whole scope of his career.
